Residents create a shining jewel in downtown Lewes

In 1999, Lewes citizens saw the opportunity to convert a barren parcel along the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal into a park that would beckon visitors to celebrate Lewes' special relationship with the sea.

The vision became a reality thanks to donations from more than 1,600 citizens, businesses and friends of Lewes. Today it stands as a symbol of community unity and perseverance.
